Alzheimer’s Disease robs individuals and their families of years and years of memories. Affected individuals may feel their families haven’t visited in years even when they were visited the day before. A good friend of mine who’s mother passed with Alzheimer’s told me he realized his role was to help her find “Moments of Joy.” This idea sparked “Faded Memory.” It starts of with a melancholy feel. The individual is hopeful that those they love will visit, but is very lonely. It is interspersed with “Moments of Joy.” I dedicate this song to all of those who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and their families.
Tribute to Lorna Breen
Although I did not have the pleasure of knowing Dr. Lorna Breen, I was quite moved by the story of her sacrifice, and wrote this piece as a tribute to her.
